Kenya replaced its visas with an Electronic Travel Authorisation, and the first question is whether you need one at all — citizens of the East African Community and a long list of other countries are exempt, and that list is by passport nationality, not by where you live. Immigration says an eTA is usually processed in three days and advises applying a fortnight before travel. Worth knowing that an approved eTA is permission to travel rather than a guarantee of entry: admissibility is decided at the airport, which is why the supporting documents still matter.

- Passport valid for at least 6 months with blank pages
- UAE residence visa copy (valid at least 3 months)
- Emirates ID copy (front and back)
- Recent passport-size photographs to embassy specification
- Bank statements for the last 3-6 months
- Employment contract or NOC letter from your employer
- Confirmed flight and hotel reservations
- Travel medical insurance for the trip duration
