Many nationalities enter the Philippines without a visa for 30 days, so for a lot of travellers the visa is not the issue at all — the eTravel registration is. Every arriving traveller must register on the government's free eTravel site at least 72 hours before arrival and show the resulting QR code to board; airlines do enforce it. Beyond that, immigration expects a passport valid six months past your stay and a confirmed onward ticket, and both get checked. If you want longer than 30 days it is far easier to arrange the visa before you fly than to extend once you are there.

Documents you'll usually need
- Passport valid for at least 6 months with blank pages
- UAE residence visa copy (valid at least 3 months)
- Emirates ID copy (front and back)
- Recent passport-size photographs to embassy specification
- Bank statements for the last 3-6 months
- Employment contract or NOC letter from your employer
- Confirmed flight and hotel reservations
- Travel medical insurance for the trip duration
